Gary Hill Gospel ShowOn Saturday, July 8 following our 6:30 PM Worship Service the Gary Hill Gospel Show will be at St. John. A free will offering will be taken. Tell your friends about this concert and invite them to the service at 6:30 PM and the concert at 7:30 PM.
Reflection BrunchOn Sunday, July 16 we will celebrate our Reflection Sunday with a special service at 9:30 AM. We will be honoring all of our members who have reached the age of 80 years or more. Following the service a brunch will be served in the church basement. Come and be a part of this celebration for these members who have given so much of their time and talents to the Lord’s work over the past years. Everyone is invited! Bring a dish to pass and stay for the brunch. If anyone has turned 80 and is not on this list, please call the church office as soon as possible. The Lutheran Service BookOur Synod’s new hymnal will be available this fall. Information about the new hymnal will be made available to Synod congregations throughout the summer. A listing of hymns to be included in the new hymnal are available for members to review. They are on the table in the narthex. One lists the hymns alphabetically, the other topically. While our congregation hasn’t made any decision regarding the new hymnal it is appropriate for us to review the information available, so that in the future we will be able to make informed decisions. Additional information will also be posted at the following website: http://lsb.cph.org. Pastor Ader would very much like to hear about and discuss your comments or concerns as you review the various information as it becomes available. Lutheran Service Book WorkshopsIntroductory workshops for Lutheran Service Book, Synods new hymnal will be held at St. Mark Lutheran Church Wausau on Sept. 16 and at St. Paul Lutheran Church Stevens Point on Sept. 23. The cost of the workshop is $20.00. Registration forms are available on the table in the narthex. There are also a few brochures about the new Lutheran Service Books available for members to review.
St. John Brat FryWe will be having a Brat Fry in the church parking lot on Saturday, July 22 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. If you are in the area or on your way to and from the ski show stop in for lunch or supper. We appreciate your support! We would appreciate your help. Bulletin Donation Sign Up ChartIf you would like to donate $15 for the cost of printing the weekly bulletin please sign up on the chart on the north bulletin board. You may make your donation in honor of a birthday, anniversary or memorial. More than one person can be signed up for the same date. Please enclose payment in an envelope marked “Bulletin” and place in the offering plate or give to an elder. You may also mail or drop it off at the office. Enclose your name if you would like it published along with your personal message. We Care CardsWhen attending worship services please fill out a “We Care Card” with the date, your family name, and the first names of those attending. Put a check mark behind the names of those who are attending communion. If you desire pastoral services or have comments please fill out that as well. If guests are worshiping with you they can fill out the guest side of the card and also sign the guest register in the narthex. Thank you. Concordia University Wisconsin InvitationPlease visit Concordia University Wisconsin during Wisconsin Private College Week from July 10-14, 2006. Individual visits can be scheduled throughout this week. During your visit you will be able to meet with a faculty member representing your major, an admission counselor, and a coach or other extra-curricular representative. You may also dine in our cafeteria. Finally, be sure to include a campus tour as a part of your visit. Tours are available daily at 10 am, 1pm, and 3 pm. Wisconsin Private College Week Visit Day Wednesday, July 12, 2006 This visit day will highlight many of the educational and extracurricular programs that Concordia University Wisconsin has to offer. During our open house, you will be able to meet with representatives of the specific programs and activities that interest you.
